The search continues!

By the time you are reading this, Monday’s almost over! Woo… closer to the weekend!

Like I mentioned in this mornings post, Aaron and I did a whole lot of house hunting yesterday! It was pretty fun getting to look at potential places to live!

Let’s back up on a little history here. Aaron graduated in 2011, and I in 2012. We have both decided to live at home until we get married for personal reasons, as well as it giving us more time to save some money. I cannot wait to live with this man, though, and start creating our future together! Every house we went into, I thought of how it would work for us and if it gave us room for the future!

We probably viewed about 8 houses or so, and some were great, and some were poop! I wish pictures did houses more justice! Unfortunately, we were disappointed in a lot that we had hopes up for! We do know it is still a little too soon for us to buy, but we are keeping our options open and waiting for the perfect house for us.

Our search started with a house we both loved. It was on a dead-end road, and honestly did not need much done inside! It was completely move in ready, and everything I could want.

veman 1

Excellent size kitchen.

veman 2

Updated bathroom.

veman 3

Huge basement! I mean really, it had everything I wanted!

We moved on to a house nearby, and it also had potential. It was pretty nice, but could use some upkeep, and little work.

Like this kitchen, for instance. The cabinets would have to go in the future!

portia 2

Nice living room when you walked in, though!

portia 3

Decent sized basement. (Sorry about the quality of some of these pictures. The lights were burnt out in the house, so I only relied on my flash!)

All in all, though, that house is now up in our maybe list!

Then, there are some things that just make you laugh, like how tiny this kitchen it. Guess I would never be able to cook while being pregnant!

One house was the cutest from the outside. I really thought I would fall in love with it.

Isn’t it adorable? Front porch totally roped me in.

However, this house was NOTHING like the pictures on the inside! Big let down for us Sad smile

Oh well! It was great to see some possibilities, but the search continues for our perfect starter home!

First look at a house!

Ever heard looks can be deceiving? That definitely fits for last night.

Last night, Aaron and I made our way to go look at our first house! We have been scouring different apps to find a house that fits us, and thought we were close! This house went up on the market the other day, and we both really liked it. We hardly ever say that about the same house!

Knowing we both really liked it, wtalked to our realtor and he set up a time tonight for us to go look at it. Unfortunately, it was definitely not what we thought! Our night actually didn’t start too well when it became a snowy disaster outside! We debated even going, and in hindsight probably shouldn’t have, but we made it!

Upon arrival, I could see a few things I already didn’t like about it. The garage door looked really old and dented (I know, it could be changed), and the neighbors driveway and house were extremely close to this house. However, I told myself to be open.

For starters…

first house

This was the family room. Honestly, it went a little to the right and that was it. Really hard to take a picture of, also. It was very tiny, and wouldn’t be a great place to hang out.

first house 2

The kitchen looked really nice,  but the backsplash was actually plastic tile, which was falling off.

And, last but not least, there was basically, no basement, or even yard. I would really like to have a basement so that when people come over, there is a place to all hang out. Unfortunately, this house didn’t have one.

So, this house turned out to be a bust. If we had the money, or time, to put into it, it would be a really nice house! However, while working and planning a wedding, we are looking for a house we don’t have to do too much to and is more move-in ready! Oh well, onto the next one!

If you follow me on Instagram (@fitncookies), you’ve seen this, but oh my goodness! I fell in love with this yummy delight today!

I do enjoy the chocolate chip Clif Bar, but a lot of the other flavors include nuts, which I do not like. I spotted the Clif Z Bar (kids) at TJ yesterday, and because I am a child at heart, I decided to try them. The flavors were more up my alley so I bought a variety to try! This tasted delicious, and I am sad I didn’t buy more of this flavor!

Just for laughs, check out Niko eyeing up my Cookie Butter! He’s too funny.

Enjoy your day, everyone!
