Leavin Me Hangin!

Good morning and happy Saturday!!

Aren’t Saturday mornings just a beautiful thing? I am still curled up under my covers  in my bed relaxing while the sun shines in my window. Could it get any better on a winter day?

I had quite the productive and enjoyable day yesterday! It was long, which made sleeping in that much better for me today! And for those of you wondering, my “sleeping in” was 8:00am !Surprised smileSad smile

But, let’s back it up to my day yesterday.

Breakfast:

Yesterday’s breakfast was a mighty good one! I had a left over cookie butter jar, which, in my case, is equal to all the peanut butter jars out there! (I am really strange in that I actually can’t stand peanut butter Sad smile ) So what did I make? Well! Overnight oats in a jar for sure!

In it went:

  • 1/3 cup Quick oats
  • 1/3 cup vanilla Almond Milk
  • 1/2 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 Tbsp Flax seed meal
  • 1/2 banana
  • Shake of cinnamon
  • 1/2 packet of Stevia raw
  • few drops of vanilla

Oh man, was it good! Wish I had an endless supply of Cookie Butter jars with just enough left inside to make this every.single.day. No exaggeration. Be right back

I also enjoyed a Chocolate Chip Clif Z Kid Bar yesterday. I mean, who says they are just for kids?! Perfect size and too delicious to pass up!

I actually subbed in the same classroom that I mentioned had the iPads, which was great because I knew the expectations and the schedule for the day. Made for a fabulous Friday!

Knowing that I was meeting my cousin, Jenn, for dinner last night, and that I also had errands to do in the area, I just headed to the stores after school! Apparently, my phone charger likes to be temperamental and choose when it wants to work, and when it wants to leave me hanging high and dry. Like yesterday. Like when I left for work and saw it had 31% on it still.  Really? So off to the Genius Bar I went!

They are so nice and friendly in there. I told him my problem, and he easily swapped it out and gave me a new one!

Rather than spending my time at the mall and spending money I shouldn’t be, I headed to one of my other favorite places!

Jareds! Aaron bought my engagement ring at Jared’s and we have loved their service ever since. There is one sales associate, Andrea, who is so wonderful to us and always looking out making sure we find what we want and get good deals! We had looked at wedding bands, but had no thoughts of buying it soon. Until Andrea called on Thursday. Turns out my ring was sold out of the showcase and would take 71 days to come in again. What? 71 days?  Well, this girl right here was not waiting any longer! I went in and ordered it! Not having any chance of not coming in! Winking smile Jared’s also has the best hot chocolate ever. Of course I had to get some!

What better way to drink hot chocolate than with diamonds in the background?? They are a girl’s best friend, after all!

I had a quick trip to Office Depot to make, decided that when I get my own classroom, I  want need this.

This led me to my dinner with Jenn! It was such a great time catching up with her! We haven’t had family functions for a while to see each other, and knew it would be some time before we would again, so this was perfect (and fit into our busy lives)! We headed to TGI Friday’s (always a winner in my book!) and I ordered the Cajun Chicken and Shrimp.

Definitely delicious and will be ordered again. Even have leftovers for lunch today!

I came home real fast, changed, and headed out to have a night out with friends! It was a perfect way to end both a busy and fantastic day, and a long week! Now I’m off to complete a workout and enjoy the rest of my day! Hope you do the same! If you got hit with the storm, I really hope you are staying safe and don’t have too much damage!

WIAW! And Best Body Bootcamp update!

Before I get into my yummy food I enjoyed yesterday (WIAW will have my Tuesday eats!), I want to go over a bit about my workouts this week!

This week kicked off Phase 3 of Tina’s Best Body Bootcamp. It is using the endurance we built in Phase 2 to see our strength! So far, I am loving it! Monday’s workout used Pyramid sets, which I had never heard of before. We focused on legs and shoulders, and boy,  by the end I was really feeling it! Actually, my shoulders really felt it all day yesterday. Must’ve been good!

Yesterday’s workout was cardio and core. I thought the core exercises were challenging for Phase 2, but man yesterday hurt so good! Putting a few exercises back to back with no breaks really makes your core work! And after the intense cardio she had us do, I was just about donezo for the day! Tina’s workouts keep me guessing, and keep me from a rut in the middle of winter!

Now, onto WIAW!

what I ate Wednesday

This is also something I have been dying to be apart of, and now I can be!

Breakfast:

This was about the only normal thing that stuck in a routine for me yesterday! I had these oats! I did not put the extra protein powder in them. Since I didn’t work out this morning, I decided I didn’t need it.

They were delicious as usual, and kept me feeling quite full!

Snack-ish (10:30)

The reason I say snack-ish is because I was technically supposed to eat lunch at this time. Why schools feel 10:30 AM is an appropriate time for kids to eat is beyond me! I know so many kids are starving by the end of the day, and go home and pig out before dinner. Not the healthiest.

So I looked at my schedule and saw I had my prep at 2:30. I decided I could switch my snack and eat it during my “scheduled” lunch to hold me over until I ate my actual lunch. It was a big mess!

Anwayyy, I had a Clif Z Kid bar again (love them!) in Iced Oatmeal Cookie flavor!

Lunch (2:35)

I ate another powerbowl salad for lunch! I added crab meat to it after the picture was taken. Oops!

In it went:

  • Italian Dressing
  • Romaine and Spinach
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Green and Red Peppers
  • Crab Meat
  • Cheddar Cheese (because food just tastes better with cheese!)

Snack (4:30)

After my workout, and before I had to head out to teach CCD, I enjoyed a Chocolate protein shake. Made with water, ice, and protein powder blended in the blender and it was delicious!

Dinner (6:45)

I was starving after CCD! I usually eat dinner at 6, so Tuesday’s become a little tricky when I have to wait! I try to hold myself over with snacks, but I guess my workout from the day revved that metabolism! My mom works at the church where I teach CCD, so we are both gone on Tuesdays so it’s usually a heat up meal! Tonight’s ended up being Hamburger Helped Lasagna style. Not the healthiest, but you can’t win them all!

Hello Saturday!

Happy Saturday to you all!

I don’t know about you, but I could not WAIT to sleep in this morning. However, when I say sleep in, it meant 8:15! Oh well! I awoke feeling great and got to work on a workout for the morning! Before I get into that, let’s talk about last night!

Last night:

Aaron had come over, and we had plans to just hang out and take it easy. However, he got a text from a friend shortly after he arrived telling us everyone was heading to this local place. So, we decided to go join in! I hadn’t seen these friends in a while, so it felt great to just have fun and relax with them. We ended up staying until after midnight, and I was definitely feeling tired by that point! I’m not the night owl, that’s for sure.

Now, onto dinner last night:

Since I still live at home, my mom still cooks me dinner! Pretty fabulous perk that I will be missing very much.

Last night we had Beef Stroganoff with a side of broccoli. I had actually just finished Tina’s Best Body Bootcamp workout for the day, and was feeling mighty sweaty! So, this meal wasn’t exactly what I was craving since it was all very hot, but it did the trick anyway.

I finished up my dinner with a piece of Courtney’s Quick Italian Bread that I made earlier in the week! Delicious!

I wish mine would turn out as pretty as hers, though! For some reason, the top always burns!

Breakfast:

I actually made myself a quick bowl of oats! I was so hungry after my workout today, that I forgot to snap a picture! However, it was delicious!

In it went:

  • 1/3 Cup Quick Oats
  • 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 1Tbsp Flaxseed meal
  • 1/2 scoop Vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 cup vanilla almond milk
  • 1 packet Stevia Raw
  • 1/2 banana
  • Splash of vanilla
  • Couple sprinkles of cinnamon

It was mighty delicious! I have been really loving my oats in the morning! Today’s was a pretty large and filling one, which will be great to hold me off for lunch until the Pen’s Game!

Workout:

Like I said, I am participating in Tina’s Best Body Bootcamp. It has been the best 4 weeks so far. Her workouts are always challenging, but I look forward to them every day.

Today was actually either a cardio day or rest day. I had planned to make it a rest day because I am getting over a cold still, but when I awoke feeling great, I went to the basement and did a great workout! I stuck to walking, but man, I included hills and it was rough!

I finished up with Tina’s Kettlebell Workout! It felt great to use different muscles (and my kettlebells, finally)

I’m not sure what the rest of my day looks like, but I believe it will be sure to include some crafting with my Cricut machine I received for Christmas!
