Strawberry- Banana Smoothie

Ok, so yesterday morning, I failed to wake up to work out. My alarm went off, and I decided against it. In my heart of hearts, I knew I would be sitting all day, and thought it might be better if I saved my run for after school so I could move. Such a brilliant idea, Heather Smile 

I haven’t had a steady run for a lonnggg time, especially on the treadmill! I changed that yesterday, with a fantastic run! I mean, one that felt great, time flew by, and I actually enjoyed. I really forgot how much I enjoy running and how amazing I feel after, but was quickly reminded.

I ran 5 miles! It felt like heaven. Running 5 miles outside is not a huge accomplishment, but 5 miles on the treadmill? Pretty unheard of for me! I ran it in under 45 minutes, too!

Myste even wanted in on the sweaty action! She sat in my basement watching me run the entire time, and as soon as I stopped, she was on that treadmill! She needed some snuggles from me!

Now, the reason you are here! This morning, I shared that I made a strawberry-banana smoothie to hold me over last night! It is my favorite smoothie, but don’t make it too often! I should change that.

Step 1: Assemble the ingredients.

Step 2: Put ingredients in your blender.

Good Morning, everyone! Hopefully your weekends were just what you needed to kick off another week! I actually have off today because it’s President’s Day, so schools are closed. Lucky Me Smile

Marvelous Was…

  • Getting plenty of rest and relaxation this weekend to feel better and actually feeling better! Ear feels better, less coughing, and my stitches aren’t in as much pain anymore! Still annoying and can’t lean on anything so sleeping is hard but ill take it as a win!
  • Catching up on all my DVR shows! I still have to catch up on Revenge,  but I watch that with my parents so we need to set up some time!

  • Going to our first marriage class- we didn’t fight and actually not learning anything we didn’t already know! It was on communication, but we handled it like rock stars! After 8 years, we really do know each other. As all the other couples were in deep conversations comparing answers, Aaron and I were tearing up from laughing that we had the same answers! Pretty awesome and makes me feel like we are totally ready for marriage! Lets hope the rest of the classes tell us that!

  • Making French toast yesterday!

It was quite the easy recipe so here goes!

Ingredients:

  • I egg
  • 2 Pieces of whole wheat bread
  • Olive Oil Spray
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Banana

Instructions:

  1. Heat pan on medium
  2. Mash up banana, and then mix egg with it
  3. Add cinnamon and vanilla and whisk.
  4. Spray pan with cooking spray.
  5. Dip both sides of both pieces of bread in coating. Cook each side on medium heat (I continually flip mine because I’m too impatient so I don’t know how long it should be!)
  6. I then coated mine with some maple syrup and I was good to go! It was very yummy Smile

  • Going to Trader Joe’s and finding this hummus that I am now in love with and obsessed with!   Perfect for dipping pretzels in!

Chocolate Caramel Protein balls

Goooood morning to you all! I hope everyone’s weekend is going as well as mine is! If you were in the path of Nemo, I really pray you are doing alright! I saw pictures.. Of white.. And I was glad I was outta the path!

Last week, while at Trader Joe’s, I decided to pick up some Almond Butter. I’ve read about how great it is and all the things you can do with it, and so I had high hopes. I actually hate the taste of peanut butter, which I know is super weird. I don’t even like peanut butter in anything , but thought,”Hey maybe almond butter will taste different and I’ll like it!”. High hopes, my friends. Turns out, I didn’t really like it either. When I put it on graham crackers it wasn’t bad, but I didn’t want to always do that, which led me to become creative in the kitchen!

  • Have you used Cookies n Cream protein powder or Cupcake Batter protein powder before? Any good? I’m out of protein and was debating between these two and just chocolate. They only come in 5 lb containers, so I don’t really want 5 lbs of each! Any opinions are greatly appreciated!
